38 Minutes With Paul Lacovara and Philip Winchester

On January 13th, 2018 at exactly 8:07 am Hawaiians were alerted on their phone by an incoming ballistic missile. For 38 minutes, Hawaiian residents lived in harrowing fear for their lives. Paul Lacovara who was working on the television show Hawaii 5-0 as a stunt coordinator was in the main land during a weekend break but  when he returned friends were telling him of stories who truly believed that they were going to die that morning.

Inspired by the experiences of his friends, Paul decided he was going to write those emotions and combined with his love of action – thus 38 Minutes was conceived.

38 Minutes is filled with non-stop action and heart pounding scenes – the protagonist John, had less than 38 minutes to get his family out of the island.

In spite COVID-19, 38 Minutes was receiving accolades and awards as it made it around the Short Film Festival circuit.

Watch our conversation with Paul and Philip.
